Purpose
The Guardian Chemicals Business Analyst Program is a two-year program designed to enable newly graduated students the ability to gain hands on work experience as the foundation of their professional careers. Our Business Analyst Program will give you first-hand insights to the processes, systems, culture, and practices that are aligned to ensure customer needs are met through flawless execution and application. The program is structured to give you experience in different fields within the company with the goal of placing business analysts into a full-time position at Guardian Chemicals at the end of the rotations.

What you will do
You’ll participate within four of the main business departments of Guardian Chemicals: Sales and Sales Operations, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Finance and Administration, and Marketing. Each rotation will be for 6 months. During this time, you will receive focused training, engagement with team meetings, work on projects and present your results.
During your grad placement you will be supported by a buddy within each department and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience.
As a grad program participant, you will be responsible for:
  • Completing internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements
  • Learning internal software to assist with the completion of projects and tasks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to interact and network with business leaders
  • Receiving coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset
  • Applying Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained
What you will bring:
  • Be a recent graduate with a Bachelors level degree in Business, Technology, Operations Management or other STEM related programs
  • Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent
  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
  • Be able to legally work in Canada
  • Be able to commute for the duration of your internship (must have a valid drivers license).
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to get multiple tasks done within a workday
  • Ability to effectively manage and work with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Positive driven attitude
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, decision making and time management skills
  • Ability to assimilate, analyze and facilitate information sharing
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Efficient work habits
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail identifying problems and efficiencies, able to develop process efficiencies, to take accountability for the role, and have a dynamic personality.
